Friday kicked of vendors promoting their products and services at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market and will continue through this Saturday.

Ces Erdman with Cape Fear Parrot Sanctuary, a non-profit rescue group for birds was on site with paintings by Charlie the Picasso of Parrots for sale to help the rescue group.

Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program, also known as SHIIP was on board at the market with information and selling BBQ Plates for $7 to help the Bladen County Senior Center’s 3rd Annual Fall Festival.

Kenneth Brown, our “Home Grown Author” was offering his book, “Me, Myself and Multiple Sclerosis” and an Anthology, “Faith, Hope and Charity.”

Sabrina Murchinson and Eugenia Singletary with the Bladen County Health Department were educating the community about Bladen County’s CAP programs and Home Health services.

According to Murchinson, there are two CAP programs. CAP-C for children and CAP-DA for adults. The programs offer in-home aids services and much more to our residents needing assistance. There are also Life Alert services now available too.

Trey Melvin with Woodmen of the World was also there educating folks about insurance.

Inside there were craft vendors offering hand made goods from local artists. These craft vendors will be set up again Saturday morning starting at 7:00.
