CLINTON – Clinton defeated East Bladen 3-0 on Tuesday night in the nonconference volleyball opener for the Lady Eagles by set scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-11.
Senior Lorna Mendell finished with 11 hits, 4 blocks and 2 service points for East Bladen. Freshman Acee Campbell racked up 11 hits, 4 digs, a block and a service point. Junior Kayleigh Raynor totaled 12 hits, an ace and a service point.
Junior Cheylee Mathis knocked in 9 hits, 2 aces and 3 service points for the Lady Eagles. Senior Ruth Ward contributed 4 digs, 3 hits and an ace. Senior Cybil Campbell added 5 hits, a dig and 3 service points.
Junior Katie Evans fired in 3 service points. Junior Sara Gargala had a block and a service point, and senior Lila McDuffie smacked 2 hits and a service point.
The Lady Eagles open Three Rivers Conference play Thursday at Whiteville.
