On Saturday, February 23, the West Bladen High School Science Olympiad team attended regional competition in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Knights walked away with medals from three events and a 12th place overall finish while competing with 20 other high schools and Early Colleges.

Medals were awarded to the top 6 teams in each event. The Knights were awarded medals in:
2nd place – Joshua Benson and Kenya Hernandez – Boomilever
3rd place – Tristan Sadler and Dylan Dove – Fossils
6th place – Jacob Bryan and Joshua Benson – Ping Pong Challenge
Winners also included:
Jose Luis Osorio and Edgardo Lara – 8th in Chemistry Lab
Jacob Hester and Edgardo Lara – 7th in Dynamic Planet
Amelia Harris and Tristan Sadler – 7th in the Sound of Music event, and
Kayla Burney and Andrea Shipman- 8th in Water Quality
