Bladen County Schools celebrated the beloved, late author Dr. Seuss and Read Across America this week in many different forms. Students, teachers, staff members, parents and volunteers all across the county enjoyed different festivities.

Some popular ways to celebrate Read Across America and Dr. Seuss was to wear crazy socks, have volunteers read to students and have students make different crafts of items found in Seuss’ books.

Dublin Primary School posted the ways they celebrated on their Facebook page. Two of the days the school participated in and posted about were “Crazy Sock Day” and “Green Eggs and Ham Day”. Find more of their photos on their social media page listed above with the link.

The DREAM Team from East Bladen High School took the opportunity to read to different classes in the elementary schools. The students and many others were taking Dr. Seuss’ words and having a great time. The statement from Suess himself,“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go,” was taught all across Bladen County this week.
