The Dollar General on US 701 North near White Lake will be conducting a Holiday of Hope Toy Drive on Saturday, December 16th, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

“The toy drive is a way to give back to the community,” said Store Manager Brandy Brigman.

There will be an opportunity to have your child’s picture taken with Santa Claus at no cost and coloring pictures will also be available, said Brigman. Fire trucks will also be on display from White Lake Fire Department, White Lake Water Rescue and Bay Tree Lakes Fire Department.

Cupcakes will be available for the children to enjoy.

The goal of the toy drive is to stuff the fire trucks with enough toys to assist families in Bladen County who remain displaced due to Hurricane Matthew. You can purchase a new toy from the store for the toy drive or you can bring a new toy to drop off.

The store took part in the effort last year and this year they want the event to be even bigger, according to Brigman.

“Last year we stuffed the fire truck and stuffed the police car and we want to do that again this year,” said Brigman.
