WoodsRun Forestry New LocationElizabethtown, NC – Greg Conner, RF, CF, ACF and Bill Holmes, RF, ACF, of WoodsRun Consulting Forestry have recently opened an office at 2220 Peanut Plant Road in Elizabethtown, to assist local land owners in the management of their timber assets. Forest management is the science and art of managing the land and trees in your forest in order to achieve your goals or objectives.

Whether your goal is to make money or manage wildlife, WoodsRun Consulting will help you to get the highest value for the sale of your timber, supervise your harvest, and assist in the reforestation of your land.  “We work to meet the landowner’s goals, whether it is to make money, manage wildlife, or whatever goals the owner wants to accomplish.” – Greg Conner and Bill Holmes

WoodsRun Consulting will appraise your resources to give you an understanding of the value of your assets and provide options that will improve wildlife habitats. They will develop conditions for the sale and logging of the land, and send out bid invitations to timber buyers in NC and SC. They work with you, the buyers, and the attorneys, to develop timber deeds and other necessary contracts, manage the sale of the timber to ensure that both the buyer and the logger follow the set of conditions you specified in the harvesting agreement, and make recommendations for reforestation after the harvest.

WoodsRun Consulting Forestry can lower your property tax value through the *Present Use Value rather than having to rely on the market value. They may even be able assist you in applying for cost share and other governmental programs available to private landowners.

Research at the University of GA has shown that lump sum sealed bid sales (getting all of your money up front) by consulting foresters bring up to 50% more than what a landowner would get by negotiating with timber buyers (getting your money as it is cut).
