Drawing as an example of graphic art is a tool that represents feelings, ideas, or thoughts that are often difficult to express with words. It is one of the most primitive expressions of the human being; the drawing has recreated humanity’s history on several occasions.

Also considered one of the visual arts, drawing is one of the first artistic forms developed by man, dating back to prehistory. The draw has among its purposes to illustrate each artist’s reality and the intention with which it is made known.

The cartoon is a funny drawing or sketch featured in a newspaper, magazine, animated movie, or television show; It can also be a series of illustrations (comic strip) or an animated film.

According to Merriam Webster’s website, “cartoon began in Italian as the word for the material on which a drawing is made, then became the word for the drawing itself. Next it came to mean a comic drawing, a series of drawings, or animation.”

The Caricature has been used since the early 1840s as a pictorial parody using satire and humor. Its structure consists mainly of a short and funny comment that uses illustrations.

The French cartoonist and animator Émile Cohl is popularly named “the father of cartoons.” In 1908 this French cartoonist Émile Cohl created the first cartoon known to the world. Fantasmagorie, a very short animation, is one of the earliest examples of traditional (hand-drawn) animation.

Over time, caricatures have been used to represent everyday events or real life; however, this is not always the case since the artists’ imagination plays an essential role in their creation. The cartoon has served as a practical method to teach children about various subjects.
