Here are three things to know for Friday, Aug. 20:

1. High school sports: East Bladen is scheduled to host a boys’ soccer/football doubleheader today. The soccer team plays West Brunswick at 4:30 and the football team plays Wallace-Rose Hill at 7.

2. Bladen County Board of Commissioners special meeting: Monday, 5:30 p.m., Commissioners’ Room located on lower level of Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. 3. Today’s weather: Chance of thunderstorms with high near 90. Tonight, thunderstorms likely with low near 72.
