According to the letter, the children were safe; however, all buildings on campus suffered some level of damage during the storm. The letter described all sorts of damages to the facilities on campus.

Their number one need is to cover the expenses the non-profit is incurring as a result of Hurricane Florence. The letter stated the current best estimate of losses not covered by insurance exceeds $80,000.

The club announced they would be donating $500 to the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina in Lake Waccamaw to assist with the facilities needs. Anyone else wishing to make a donation to assist the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina may mail a check to P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450-0127.
