East Bladen High SchoolRED SPRINGS – East Bladen and Red Springs battled to a 1-1 tie Wednesday night in Three Rivers Conference jayvee soccer action.

Freshman Will Hester fired in the Eagle goal off of a corner kick by sophomore Jose Arteaga in the first half. Red Springs tied the game with a second-half goal.

“We had several chances early in the game that we didn’t convert,” said East Bladen Coach Jay Raynor. “The longer a team stays in the game the better chance they have to beat you. I thought we left some goals on the pitch and leaving them in the game gave them energy.”

Raynor added, “We dominated the run of play and moved the ball well on the tight field.”

The Eagle jayvees are now 1-0-1 in league play and 3-0-2 overall.
