October 16 SFSGA Tourney At Pinecrest

Sixty-eight players participated in the Southeastern Fellowship Senior Golf Association tournament played October 16 at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton. WHITEVILLE – Whiteville Central built a 22-6 halftime lead en route to a 28-6 Waccamaw Middle School Conference football victory over Bladenboro in a game that was delayed over 30 minutes by lightning in the second half. Gary Parker broke free down the left side and raced 70 yards for a Bulldog touchdown and an early 6-0 lead. The tourist event started on Saturday, September 29th, in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The tour ended on Saturday, October 6th, with cyclists leaving Elizabethtown and heading to Oak Island. As the cyclists rolled into Elizabethtown on Friday, October 5th, they were greeted by Town of Elizabethtown Mayor Sylvia Campbell, the Chamber of Commerce, business owners and citizens.
