RED SPRINGS – East Bladen scored a pair of first-half goals en route to a 3-1 Three Rivers girls soccer victory over Red Springs Wednesday night.

Freshmen Katie Evans and Kenia Medina and sophmore Patience Ward scored one goal each for the Lady Eagles. Senior Hannah Devane was credited with a pair of assists for the winners, and junior Ashley Hardin recorded one assist.

Hardin keyed the East Bladen defense with a whopping 15 steals. Evans contributed 13 steals, and sophmore Cybil Campbell came up with 11 steals. Freshman Sara Gargala and sophmore Izzy Smith totaled 10 steals each. Ward and sophmore Gracyn Martin posted 9 steals each.

The Lady Eagles outshot Red Springs 19-3 led by Devane with 5 shots on goal, and Evans and Hardin with 4 shots each on goal. Ward and Medina had 3 shots on goal each.

Junior goalie Ting Lin recorded one save. Senior Raynas Zangana scored the only Red Springs goal.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles remained atop the TRC Standings with a 6-0 league record and perfect 7-0 overall mark. East Bladen will host Scotland Thursday at 6 p.m. in a non-conference match.
