BLADENBORO – Rylee Chadwick pitched a one-hitter and struck out 11 batters to lead Bladenboro to a 16-1 Bladen Five Middle School Conference softball victory over Elizabethtown Thursday.

The Lady Cougars jumped in front with a first inning run. Laura Davisson and Max Strickland drew walks, and Lainey Hughes smacked a single that scored Davisson.

Bladenboro answered with 5 runs in the bottom of the inning. Chadwick cracked a single, stole second and raced home when Lainey Autry belted a single. After Savannah Turbeville walked, Autry darted home on a double play.

Hannah Pait laced a single, and Kaden Thurman was hit by a pitch. Both runners scored as Lauren Pait reached base on an error.

An 8-run third inning grew the Lady Bulldog lead to 13-1. Kenzie Singletary started the inning with a single, and Hannah Pait was hit by a pitch. Lauren Pait knocked in both runners with a single.

After Megan West was hit by a pitch, Taylor Lewis drove in Lauren Pait with a single. Autry delivered a single that scored West, and Turbeville and Singletary reached base on errors that scored Lewis, Autry, Turbeville and Singletary.

Bladenboro closed out the game on the mercy rule with 3 runs in the fourth. Lauren Pait reached base on an error, and Emmee Ward reached base on a passed third strike. Autry drove in Lauren Pait with a single, and Singletary ripped a single that plated Ward and Autry.

Autry batted 3-4 with 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored to lead the Lady Bulldog hitters. Singletary finished 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Hannah Pait, Chadwick, Whitney McLean and Lewis added one hit each.

Lauren Pait scored 3 runs, and Hannah Pait scored twice. Chadwick, Turbeville, Thurman, West, Lewis and Ward scored one run each. Lauren Pait drove in 2 runs, and Lewis drove in one.

Hughes drove in a run with a single, and Davisson scored a run. Davisson struck out 4 batters in 4 innings in the circle for Elizabethtown.

With the victory Bladenboro remains unbeaten with a 4-0 record in league play.
