Town Of ElizabethtownThe Elizabethtown Town Council will meet tonight to discuss several items on the agenda.

During the noon work session, the board will hear an update from Carter Hubbard with W. K. Dickson regarding the King Street Drainage Project.

Tonight, the board will conduct two public hearings. The first hearing will be conducted regarding a special use permit request from Keith Harward of 106 Cromartie Road to construct an RV Carport. The second hearing will consider an amendment to the town’s Code of Ordinances for parades and demonstrations. The board will vote on both matters later in the meeting.

Under the section of ordinances, resolutions and proclamations, the board will consider declaring the town’s K-9 as surplus through private sale. The board will also consider granting authorization for the fire department to apply to Four County Electric for a USDA REDLG financing for a new fire pumper/tanker.

Under Administrative Matters, the board will consider the award of engineering services proposal for asset inventory water and wastewater projects, approve a demolition grant agreement with Ken Register Jr., and appoint a voting delegate and alternate delegate for the North Carolina League of Municipalities 2018 Conference. The board will also receive the Unpaid Fiscal Year’s Tax Report and Order for Collection, consider change order No. 4 for the airport taxiway project, and receive the monthly financial report.

The board will set a date for the September meeting.

The board is scheduled to meet in closed session for matters of real estate and  client attorney privilege.
