WHITEVILLE – Whiteville Central defeated Elizabethtown 22-6 Tuesday night in Waccamaw Middle School Conference football action.
The Hornets scored two touchdowns and a pair of 2-point conversions to take a 16-0 halftime lead.
Elizabethtown’s Malcolm Bolden broke free in the fourth quarter for a 40-yard run that put the Cougars on the Hornet 20 yardline. Darius Williamson capped the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run that trimmed the margin to 22-6.
“We played pretty good,” said Cougar Coach Ricardo Whitaker. “We just couldn’t stop that one player that they had.”
The Cougars finished the season with a 4-2 record, but won the Waccamaw North Conference with a 3-1 record.
