FAIRMONT – Donevin Keith banked in a 3-point shot that beat the buzzer and lifted East Bladen to a 38-35 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over Fairmont.
The Tornadoes took a 25-22 lead into the final period, but Jacob Priest, Rasean McKoy and Zach Meares bombed in 3-point shots, and Keith and Priest dropped in baskets to pull the Eagles even at 35-35.
McKoy topped the Eagle scoring list with 12 points, and Mahki Cromartie tossed in 9 points. Priest pumped in 8 points, and Keith finished with 6 points.
Cromartie, Priest and McKoy netted baskets, and McKoy sank a free throw to keep East within 8-7 at the first quarter break. McKoy muscled in 2 more baskets and hit a free throw in the second period. Two Cromartie free throws and one by Keith put East Bladen ahead 15-11 at halftime.
Cromartie drained a 3-point shot and another basket, and Priest and McKoy hit free throws for East Bladen in the third quarter.
The Eagles improved to 3-1 in league play and will host West Columbus Wednesday night.
