RED SPRINGS – Red Springs built a 34-19 halftime lead en route to a 58-49 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over East Bladen Friday night.

Senior Jaylen Mack drilled in a pair of 3-point baskets, and senior Keagan Brayboy and junior Shyheim Richardson hurled in 2 baskets each as the Red Devils grabbed a 21-11 first quarter lead.

Sophmore Freddy Wooten nailed a 3-point shot and hit 2 free throws for the Eagles in the first quarter, and sophmore Javant McDowell muscled in a pair of baskets. Senior Greyson Heustess also threw in a basket.

Richardson pumped in a basket and a trio of free throws in the second period, and Brayboy tacked on 2 baskets as the lead grew to 34-19.

McDowell worked inside for 2 more baskets and hit 2 free throws for the Eagles in the second quarter. Wooten sank 2 free throws in the period.

Wooten buried a 3-point shot in the third quarter, Heustess connected on a trio of free throws, and junior Tyshawn Berkeley tossed in a basket and a free throw. Senior Keshaun Davis also popped in a basket, but the Red Devils maintained a 45-30 lead.

Senior Darrell Banks rallied the Eagles in the final period with a pair of 3-point baskets and 2 free throws. Junior Corey McKoy drained a 3-point shot and a free throw. McDowell and Berkeley also scored baskets in the quarter.

McDowell led the Eagles with 12 points, and Wooten followed with 11 points. Banks finished with 8 points, and Berkeley and Heustess tallied 5 points each.

Richardson topped the Red Devil scoring with 13 points, and Brayboy finished with 12 points. Mack totaled 11 points.

East Bladen will host Fairmont Friday.
