East Bladen’s Lady Eagles will host the Oxford Webb Lady Warriors Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the NCHSAA Class 2A Girls Basketball Play-offs.

Coach Patty Evers’ East Bladen squad won the Three Rivers Conference regular-season and tournament championships. Their only loss of the season was to Class 4A Wilmington Hoggard in the Leon Brogden Holiday Tournament.

The Lady Eagles feature a 3-pronged attack. Senior Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson leads the way averaging 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3 steals per game. Junior Patience Ward contributes 14 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 steals per game.

Senior Erica McKoy adds 13 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.1 steals per game. Senior Ashley Hardin chips in with 4.6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.8 steals per game.

Junior center Lorna Mendell grabs 5.1 rebounds and blocks 1.4 shots per game. Freshman Maya McDonald averages 6.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals off the bench.

Coach Paul White’s Lady Warriors finished third in the Northern Carolina Conference with a 10-4 league record losing twice to 18-5 Roanoke Rapids and three times to 20-6 Vance County– the two teams that finished ahead of them in the conference. Other losses were to Vance Charter, South Granville and Franklinton – teams with a combined record of 51-25.

Senior Connita Evans, a 5-0 guard, leads Webb with 12.1 points and 2.4 steals per game. Five-six junior Naiasha Latta racks up 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Senior Meri Bostic adds 7.8 points and 3.1 rebounds.

Five-nine senior Taylor Hammett leads the team with 4.9 rebounds per game. Freshman Ta’ida Tucker adds 5.6 points and 4 rebounds per game. Five-three senior Takeeva Sizemore scores 5.7 ppg.
