ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen scored 3 runs in the fourth inning to edge West Bladen 9-8 in Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball action Tuesday.

Adrienne Howell smacked a single to centerfield to begin the Lady Eagle fourth inning, and Jordan Kinlaw smashed a single to right-centerfield that scored Howell. Carlie West and Shelby Smith drew walks, and Kinlaw and West scored the tying and go-ahead runs on passed balls.

Kinlaw and Howell’s fourth inning hits were the only East Bladen hits in the game, but the Lady Eagles capitalized on 11 walks. Kinlaw, West and Smith scored 2 runs each, and Howell, Grey Guy and Sara Corrivea scored one run each.

Ryleigh Bailey batted 2-2 with a double and 2 runs scored to lead the Lady Knight hitters. Amelia Brisson and Madison Walters smacked one hit each. Kayla Norris scored 2 runs, and Walters, Kaylee Page, Briley Stanley and Taylor Lewis scored one run each. Brisson drove in a run.

West Bladen scored 4 runs in the second inning. Page reached base on catcher’s interference, and Bailey slammed a double. Norris walked, and Walters belted a single. Page, Bailey, Norris and Walters all scored.

The Lady Eagles answered with 3 runs in the home second. Smith, Guy and Corriveau drew walks and scored runs.

Stanley reached base on an error in the third inning, stole 2 bases and dashed home when Brisson belted a single to pad the lead to 5-3.

Kinlaw was hit by a pitch to begin the East Bladen third inning. West, Smith, Guy, Corriveau and Jenna Stephenson drew consecutive walks. Kinlaw, West and Smith scored runs to edge the Lady Eagles ahead 6-5.

Bailey belted a single to begin the West Bladen fourth, and Norris reached base on catcher’s interference. Taylor Lewis reached base on an error. Bailey, Norris and Lewis all scored to put West Bladen back on top 8-6.

Kinlaw struck out 7 batters and gave up 4 hits and a walk to pick up the win for East Bladen.  Taylor West struck out 4 batters and allowed 2 hits and 11 walks for West Bladen.

West Bladen will host Fairmont Friday night. East Bladen is open Friday since Whiteville doesn’t have a jayvee team.
