Registration is still open for the free USA Football Camp at West Bladen on Saturday, June 20 featuring former Bladenboro High star Richard Howell who is now the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Indianapolis Colts.

“We’ve still got plenty of spots open,” said Knight Football Coach Russell Dove. “We’ve already registered about double what we did last year, but we still have plenty of spots.”

The camp is for ages 7-14 and will run from 9 a.m.until noon with an 8:30 a.m. registration for anyone not registering online.

Preregistration is available online at: https://fundamentals2015.ezwaiver.com/RichardHowell where the form can be printed and brought to the event.

“If they don’t get them registered online, just bring the kids out to the school at 8:30 and we will get them registered before the camp starts,” said Coach Dove.

Howell was a three-sport star at Bladenboro High and a member of Bladenboro’s 1990 State 1-A championship basketball team. He went on to play quarterback at Davidson College (1990-1993) where he set five school records and was ranked fourth nationally in scoring in Division 1-AA football his senior year.

Coach Howell served four years as an Assistant Coach at Davidson and one year as a Graduate Assistant at UNC-Chapel Hill, before taking the job with the Colts in 2000. He received a Super Bowl Ring in 2006 when the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI.
