ST. PAULS – West Bladen rallied to within 28-24 in the third quarter, but St. Pauls pulled away with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns for a 41-24 Three Rivers Conference football victory Friday night.

Knight junior ShyRon Adams returned the second-half kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown. Senior Tra’shawn Ballard bulled into the end zone for the 2-point conversion as West Bladen sliced the Bulldog lead to 28-16.

Senior quarterback Tyre Boykin threw a 36-yard touchdown pass to Adams with 2:30 left in the third quarter. Ballard carried for the 2-point conversion that pulled the Knights to within 28-24.

Senior Marqueise Coleman scored his fourth touchdown of the game on a 5-yard run with 7:16 remaining to boost the Bulldog lead to 35-24. Coleman rushed for 195 yards on 18 carries to lead the St. Pauls attack.

Sophomore quarterback Mikail Breeden ran 35 yards for a clinching touchdown with 2:38 left in the game for the final 41-24 margin. Breeden completed 8 of 15 passes for 105 yards and ran for 76 yards.

Coleman scored a pair of Bulldog touchdowns on runs of 11 and 67 yards in the first period, and Breeden hurled a 50-yard touchdown pass to Waltay Jackson for a 21-0 lead.

Boykin broke free and raced 60 yards for a Knight touchdown in the second period. Boykin also darted into the end zone for the 2-point conversion to close the gap to 21-8.

Coleman’s third touchdown of the game on a 29-yard run pushed the lead to 28-8 at halftime.

Boykin rushed 20 times for 95 yards and completed 9 of 19 passes for 93 yards to lead the Knight offense. Adams caught 5 passes for 58 yards.

The Knights, now 2-4 in the TRC and 2-6 overall, will host South Columbus on Friday night.
