East Bladen grad Chris Cromartie has played a key role on the defensive line this season for the Campbell Camels, who have won their last six games.

Cromartie has played in all seven games for the Camels and started games against Mercer and Presbyterian at defensive tackle. The redshirt junior has made 21 tackles, including five solo tackles and one tackle for loss.

In the Camels’ 43-14 opening game loss at Troy, Alabama, Cromartie had five tackles, including two solo tackles The 6-foot-4, 325 pound junior was credited with three tackles – one solo – in the 38-14 victory over Shaw that ignited the six-game winning streak.

Cromartie made four tackles the next week in a 31-29 victory over Davidson. The Elizabethtown native made his first start in a 34-27 win over Mercer and finished with five tackles – two solo – and the tackle for loss. He added two tackles in a 28-14 victory over Presbyterian.

The Camels, 3-0 in Big South Conference play, will travel to North Alabama on Saturday for a non-conference game.
