East Bladen baseball players, pictured from left, Zack Meares, Freddy Wooten and Brady Hollingsworth are members of a Hope Mills team that will open play in the 2020 Dixie Pre-Majors World Series Saturday in Guntersville, Alabama.

Hope Mills will face Sevier County, Arkansas in their opening round game on Bill Moore Field at 9 a.m. Saturday. A victory on Saturday morning would send Hope Mills to a winners bracket game at 6 p.m. Saturday against the Texas/Tennessee winner. If Hope Mills loses they will play Sunday at 9 a.m. against the Texas/Tennessee loser.

Meares and Hollingsworth are making a return trip to the Pre-Majors World Series. Last summer they were members of a Bladen County team that posted a 2-2 record when the World Series was played in Sterlington, Louisiana.

Wooten had been selected to play in the Hank Aaron Invitational last season and was unable to play in the Dixie Pre-Majors World Series.

Bladen County also sent teams to the Pre-Majors World Series in 2014 and 2015.
