WHITEVILLE – Williams Township scored 12 runs in the 1st 2 innings and defeated Elizabethtown 12-2 in Waccamaw Middle School Conference softball action Tuesday.
Ariel Cromartie belted a 2-out single in the Lady Cougar 1st inning. Niyah Wooten smacked a single, and Laila Smith drove in Cromartie with a single for an early 1-0 Elizabethtown lead.
Hailey Bennett led off the Lady Cougar 4th inning and circled the bases on an error.
Cromartie pitched the 1st inning for Elizabethtown, and Mary Frances Sutton relieved and worked the final 2 innings in the circle.
