WHITEVILLE – Whiteville capitalized on 3 walks and 2 errors to score a trio of 5th inning runs and seal a 10-6 Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball victory over West Bladen Friday.
The Knights trailed 7-1 after 4 innings, but sophomore Jordan Underwood, freshman Cornelius Esters and sophomore Bryce Fuller drew walks to begin the West 5th inning. Sophomore Garrison Carr knocked in Underwood and Esters with a single to right.

Freshman Jamarh Richardson forced Carr at 2nd base, but Richardson then stole 2nd base. Freshman Jordan Hester ripped a single to center field that scored Fuller and Richardson. After sophomore Aaron Wren was hit by a pitch, freshman Andre Moore lined a single to right that scored Hester. Wren was thrown out at the plate attempting to tie the game.
Richardson doubled and scored a run to lead the Knight hitters. Hester and Carr both delivered 2-run singles. Fuller and Moore both singled and drove in runs. Esters scored 2 runs, and Underwood, Fuller and Hester scored runs.
Esters walked in the 1st inning, advanced on a wild pitch and raced home on Fuller’s single to center field. Jacob Jones doubled home Grayson Bell who had walked to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the inning.
Three singles, 2 errors and a walk produced 4 Wolfpack runs in the 2nd inning. A passed 3rd strike, a hit batter and an error allowed the Wolfpack to stretch their lead to 7-1 in the 3rd inning.
Carr started on the mound and pitched 2.2 innings for the Knights allowing 6 runs – 4 earned – on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out four. Wren relieved and worked 2 innings giving up 4 runs – 1 earned – on no hits and 4 walks while striking out two.
Thatcher Rooks started on the hill for Whiteville and pitched 4 innings allowing 4 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks while striking out three. Jones worked the final inning on the hill and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out one.
Jones doubled and drove in 3 runs to lead Whiteville at the plate. Ashton Cartrette drove in 2 runs. Bell, C. Hooks and B. Frazier scored 3 runs each for the Wolfpack.
West Bladen, now 1-2 in league play and 3-4 overall, will travel to West Columbus Tuesday for a 4 p.m. game.
