East Bladen received the No. 22 seed in the NCHSAA Class 2A East men’s soccer playoffs when the bids were released Friday. Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles (9-8) will travel to Cary Monday for a 6 p.m. game against Research Triangle High (15-3-1), the No. 11 seed.

The game will be played at Mills Park on Field #1 – the stadium field. Mills Park is located at 411 Mills Park Drive in Cary. Tickets will be $7 and will only be sold through GoFan. Tickets can be purchased here: https://gofan.co/app/events/432083?schoolId=NC71972a

The Research Triangle Raptors lost twice to Class 2A No. 3 seed NC School of Science & Math and were 0-1-1 against Class 2A No. 15 seed Franklin Academy. Coach Jay Liotta’s Raptors finished 2nd in the Super Six 1A/2A Conference behind the School of Science & Math and ahead of 3rd place Franklin Academy.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles finished in 4th place in the Southeastern Athletic Conference. All of East Bladen’s losses were to teams who received playoff bids, including a pair of 1-0 losses to No. 1 Class 2A seed Clinton and losses to No. 1 Class 4A seed New Hanover and No. 21 Class 4A seed Topsail.

Junior Malcolm Bolden leads the Eagle offense and has scored 23 goals in 16 games.
