Clinton defeated visiting East Bladen 3-1 Tuesday night in Four County Conference volleyball action by game scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-13 and 25-20.
The Lady Dark Horses led by as many as 10 points early in Game 1 and maintained that margin to take the game.
The Lady Eagles opened Game 2 with a 10-2 blitz. Clinton rallied a couple of times in the game, but East Bladen held and evened the match with a 25-21 victory.
The Lady Horses grabbed the early lead in Game 3 and went on to go up 2-1 with the 25-13 win.
The Lady Eagles started fast in the fourth game and jumped in front 6-2. The teams traded points until the margin reached 15-11 with East Bladen ahead. At that point the referee stopped play and after a long discussion, determined that there had been a substitution infraction against the Lady Eagles and adjusted the score to 14-12.
Clinton outscored the visitors 13-6 after the delay to take the game and the match.
East Bladen drops to 0-2 in conference play and 2-5 overall, while Clinton improves to 2-0 and 7-1.
Clinton’s jayvees posted a 2-1 win over East Bladen, dropping the first set 22-25, then rallying to take the final two sets by scores of 25-21 and 26-24.
