ELIZABETHTOWN- Whiteville Central pounded out 9 hits and defeated Elizabethtown 15-0 Wednesday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference ‘AA’ Division baseball action.
Elizabethtown, now 0-3 in the ‘AA’ Division and 1-5 overall, will travel to Williams Monday. Whiteville improved to 2-0 in ‘AA’ Division play and 7-0 overall.
N. Merritt pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 5 for the Hornets. Sidney Miller batted 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles. Briley Tedder and L. Merritt also batted 2-for-2.
Isaiah Lloyd smacked a single for the lone Cougar hit. Fox Sutton, Damian Maynor and Khalil McKoy all saw duty on the mound for Elizabethtown and combined to strike out 6 batters.
