GREENSBORO – The NCHSAA State Track & Field Championships will be held Friday and Saturday at the Marcus T. Johnson Track at North Carolina A&T University. Events will begin each day at 10 a.m.

On Friday the Class 2A & 4A Championships will be held. West Bladen seniors Deyon McDonald and Trinity VanEyken have qualified for the Class 2A Championships. McDonald will run in the men’s 110-meter hurdles, and VanEyken will be running in the women’s 100-meter hurdles.

Saturday the Class 1A and 3A Championships will be held. East Bladen junior Laila Smith will be competing in both the Class 1A women’s 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. The Lady Eagles’ 4×100 and 4×200 meter relay teams of Trinity Kemp, Nyasia Banks, Ariel Cromartie and Smith will also be competing.

East Bladen junior Chace Butler will be competing in both the 100 meter and 200-meter sprints, and Eagle senior Jadon Pridgen will compete in the discus. The Eagles 4×100 and 4×200 meter relay teams of Butler, Masion Brooks, Jayden Dailey, Matthew Kemp and Tevin McLean will also be running in their relay events.
