The kick-off for the White Lake Water Festival began yesterday with the 8th Annual Elizabethtown Rotary Club Scholarship Tournament at Vineyard Golf at White Lake. It was held Friday, May 17, at Vineyard Golf At White Lake. Nineteen teams participated, with the Melton’s team taking first place in the first flight with a score of 56 in the four-person Captain’s Choice event. Taking second place in the first flight was the Farm Bureau team with a score of 64.

The second flight was led by the Boussais Law team with 57 while taking second place was the team from East Bladen High School with 67.

The closest to the pin was won by Brandon R, while Jim Gantz won the long drive on number 11.

Saturday, May 18:
– 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Register for the Water Festival Car Show at Lake Church.
– 10:00 AM: Watch the parade down White Lake Drive (note: street will be blocked off by 9:30 AM).
– 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Browse craft vendors in the Goldston’s Beach parking lot and enjoy food vendors across the street by The Lake Store.
– 11:00 AM – until: Savor a BBQ meal from the White Lake Fire Department.
– 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Test your skills in the Cornhole Tournament at Camp Clearwater near the arcade.
– 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Build your best in the Family Sand Castle Contest sponsored by Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church on the shore at Camp Clearwater near the Chapel.
– 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Watch the Carolina Show Ski Team perform from Goldston’s Beach to Camp Clearwater.
– 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Don’t miss the Fashion Show on the main stage at Goldston’s Beach, hosted by Miss North Carolina Volunteer 2024 Hailey Hudson.
– 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM: End the day with live music from Cat5 Band on the main stage at Goldston’s Beach.

Sunday, May 19:
– 2:00 PM: Find out who won the Scavenger Hunt and the Student Logo Competition, with announcements at Goldston’s Beach.
– 3:00 PM: Join the community for a Wiffle Ball Tournament, marking the festive conclusion of the weekend at Goldston’s Beach.
