BURGAW – East Bladen senior Heidi Rebollar has been named the 2024 Waccamaw Conference Girls’ Soccer Player of the Year. Rebollar racked up 18 goals and 21 assists as she led the Lady Eagles to a berth in the 4th round of the NCHSAA Class 1A Playoffs. It was the Lady Eagles 1st appearance ever in the 4th round of the playoffs.

“Heidi was our engine,” said East Bladen Coach Jay Raynor. “We asked a lot of her this year. Attacking we needed her to be involved in getting us going forward. Defending we needed her helping to shut down the midfield.”

According to Raynor, the durable Rebollar played every second of every match and never left the field. “Regardless of the challenge, she pushed herself and helped push her teammates as well. Heidi is one of the most disciplined players I have ever coached.

“Heidi always pushed herself to be better but she wanted to make sure she did everything she could for her teammates first,” continued Raynor. “There is no doubt that without Heidi, our success over the last few years wouldn’t be what it is today.”

Raynor concluded, “Heidi embodies the core values of East Bladen Soccer – hard work, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of growth both on and off the field. Her journey continues as she will further her soccer career at Cape Fear Community College in the fall.”
