Q. What do white stakes mean on a golf course?
A. If you hit your ball on the other side of the stakes … you are OB (Out of Bounds) and you must replay your shot and add a penalty stroke … or you may play your ball from the point it crossed the white stakes line … and add a stroke. Either way you choose a penalty stroke must be added to your score on that particular hole.
