usafootball13East Bladen defeated West Bladen 2-0 Tuesday in Four County Conference jayvee volleyball action at West by set scores of 25-14 and 25-6.

Dyasia McDowell spiked in a winner to snap a 4-4 tie and start a string of 8 straight service points by Alexa Hernandez that opened up a 13-4 Lady Eagle lead in the first set.

McDowell smacked in an ace for a 15-5 lead, but Lady Knight sophmore Brinkley Collier answered with a return winner. Freshman Ashley Hardin reeled off 3 straight service points for a 19-6 East lead.

Sophmore Kaley Smith tipped in a winner, and sophmore Faith Johnson slapped in a winner for a 21-9 Lady Eagle lead.

Sophmore Elizabeth Allbright rallied the Lady Knights with 4 straight service points aided by a Patience Parker kill to trim the margin to 21-13.

Smith belted in an ace and added another service point to pad the lead to 24-13, and the teams traded points to end the set.

Freshman Raegan Davis’ service point staked West to an early 1-0 lead in Set 2, but Lesane responded with a pair of service points aided by a Hernandez spike for a 3-2 East lead.

Hernandez tipped in a winner to win the serve for Jozee Strickland who delivered 8 consecutive service points. Hardin hammered in a back-row attack during the run as the Lady Eagles went up 12-2.

West Bladen sophmore Mikayla Winebarger halted the run with a winning tip, but Smith answered with a tipped winner, then ran off 5 straight service points for an 18-3 lead.

Hardin pounded in a kill, and Sarah Johnson knocked in an ace and another service point for a 21-4 Lady Eagle lead.

Faith Johnson’s service point made it 23-5, and Hardin’s service point closed out the match.

Hernandez led the Lady Eagles with 8 service points, 3 aces and 5 kills. Smith finished with 7 service points, 3 aces, 2 kills and 4 assists. Strickland racked up 10 service points and 2 aces.

Hardin totaled 4 service points, 2 kills and an assist. Lesane added 2 service points and an ace. Sarah Johnson contributed 2 service points and an ace. McDowell and Faith Johnson had one service points and one kill each.

Allbright led the Lady Knights with 4 service points, and Davis finished with 2 service points. Alise Pait added a dig, and Collier, Parker and Winebarger had one kill each.

The Lady Eagle jayvees finish their season with an 8-12 record, while the Lady Knights conclude their slate with a 6-14 record.
