An update of road openings / closings for Bladen is as follows:
ROAD OPENINGS:
SR 1148 (Quail Street)
SR 1148 (Quail Street) will open this afternoon by 5:00 p.m.. This concludes all scheduled pipe replacement project for the season.
ROAD CLOSINGS:
SR 1743 (Kennedy Store Road)
We have closed the southern end of SR 1743 (Kennedy Store Road) from 0.2 miles south of SR 1768 (Smith Road) around to SR 1741 (East Arcadia Road) in order to perform extensive pavement repairs. The road will re-open mid next week once we get final pavement placed. For access to the three homes on this section of road, enter from the SR 1768 (Smith Road) end.
ELWELL FERRY UPDATE:
The Elwell Ferry is still closed due to high water; however, the river has fallen to within 7 inches of operating range. We are monitoring and will re-open the ferry as soon as the river subsides to operating range.
