West Bladen grad Clint Allen received the South Atlantic League’s Gold Glove Award for Left Field. A Gold Glove Award is presented to the best defensive player in the league at each position.
Allen played in 34 games for his Coker College Cobras baseball squad and owned a fielding percentage of .950 with one outfield assist on the year.
At the plate, Allen scored 20 runs, collected 23 hits, drove in 9 runs and stole 10 bases. The 6-1 junior posted a .235 batting average and .385 on-base percentage for the Cobras who finished their season with a 28-20 record and were eliminated in the first round of the South Atlantic League Tournament.
The Bladenboro native is the son of Wendi and Nathan Allen and is a medical technology major.
