ELIZABETHTOWN – Freshman quarterback Jordan Robinson threw for 2 touchdowns and returned a punt 95 yards for another touchdown to lead East Bladen to a 34-6 non-conference jayvee football victory over Whiteville.

“Jordan really threw the ball well tonight,” said Eagle Coach Ritchie Priest. “He completed five passes.”

Sophomore Eric Chancy ran 7 yards for the first East Bladen touchdown. Later in the half Chancy caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Robinson.

A Wolfpack punt sailed over Robinson’s head later in the half, but the Eagle freshman chased the ball down at his own 5-yardline and raced 95 yards for the touchdown and an 18-0 East Bladen lead at halftime.

Sophomore Josh McKoy grabbed a 10-yard touchdown pass from Robinson in the second half, and freshman Lawson Hester galloped into the end zone from 10 yards out for the final Eagle touchdown. Sophomore Jordan Payton carried into the end zone for a pair of 2-point conversions in the second half.

The Wolfpack scored on the final play of the game on a freak play. The ball was snapped over the quarterback’s head, but he ran it down and scrambled 80 yards for the touchdown.

The Eagle jayvees are now 2-0 and will travel to St. Pauls Thursday for a 6 p.m. game.
