With folks continuing to dig out from the effects of Hurricane Matthew and students returning to school Thursday, Bladen County sporting events will resume this week.
 
Bladen County Recreation soccer will resume Tuesday night at County Park.
 
Both East Bladen Coach Robby Priest and West Bladen Coach Todd Pait announced that their football teams would practice Tuesday at 3:15 to begin preparations for Friday night’s Four County Conference games. East Bladen will travel to Wallace-Rose Hill Friday night, while West Bladen will host Clinton.
 
The football games that were postponed from last Friday will be played on Friday, November 11. East Bladen will host Heide Trask on what will be Senior Night for the Eagles. West Bladen will travel to Pender that same night. East Bladen’s Homecoming game will now be October 28 against Union.
 
Coach Gaye Davis’ West Bladen volleyball team will play 4:30 home games against Midway Wednesday and ClintonThursday. At 4 p.m. Saturday the Lady Knights will travel to East Bladen and will close out their regular season Monday at Wallace-Rose-Hill at 4:30.
 
Coach Jennifer Hair’s Lady Eagle volleyball squad will host Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday and will visit Union Friday. Both matches will start at 4:30. The Union game is varsity only. After Saturday’s home game against West Bladen, East Bladen will travel to Clinton Monday at 4:30.
 
Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagle soccer team will host Wallace-Rose Hill Saturday at 1 p.m. and has a make-up match at Clinton scheduled for Monday, October 31. The Eagles will play at Union Monday, October 24 as scheduled and host West BladenWednesday, October 26th.
 
Athletic Director Kim Cain said that he is still working on rescheduling West Bladen’s postponed soccer games. The Knights will host Midway on Monday, October 24th.
 
The Four County Conference women’s tennis tournament will be played Wednesday, October 19th at West Bladen. The coaches meeting will be at 9 a.m. with the matches to follow.
 
The Four County Conference cross country meet will be held Thursday at 4:30 at Heide Trask.
 
East Bladen’s jayvee football game that was scheduled for this Thursday against Wallace-Rose Hill has been rescheduled for November 7th.  The Eagle jayvees will travel to Heide Trask on November 10th for their other make-up game.
 
West Bladen’s jayvee football game at Clinton will be played Thursday night as scheduled. The Knight jayvees will host Pender on November 10th.
 
All Bladen Five Middle School Conference football and volleyball games for this week have been postponed. Conference play will resume next week.
