Freshman Scott Bowen pitched a 4-hitter and struck out 10 batters to lead the West Bladen jayvees to a 3-0 Four County Conference baseball victory at East Bladen Tuesday.
Bowen won a pitchers’ duel with freshman Xavier Wooten of East Bladen who struck out 11 batters.
The Knights grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third inning as Bowen cracked a double and later scored the first run of the game. Brandon Carson scored the other West run in the inning.
Caleb Sholar smashed a double in the sixth inning and scored when freshman Jonathan Robinson walloped a triple.
Hunter Pait and Ray Jones also connected for hits for West Bladen.
Devan Stocks led the East Bladen offense with 2 hits. Michael Walter and B. J. Robinson smacked one hit each for the Eagles.
West Bladen improves to 2-1 in the league and 4-1 overall. East Bladen is now 2-2 in conference play and 4-3-1 overall.
