Dixie Youth BaseballTABOR CITY –Hunter Hester pitched 3.2 strong innings, and Bladen County rode an 11-run second inning to a 14-3 victory over Nakina Saturday night in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball AAA (Minors) Tournament.

Walks to Will Durden and Jonah Bryan began the Bladen second, and Hester smacked a single. Walks to Chason Harris, Richard Severine, Jr., Jaden Parker and Emmanuel Drew forced home Durden, Bryan, Hester, and Harris.

Aiden Russ cracked a single that scored Severine. Hezikiah Adams and Conner Monroe drew walks that forced home Parker and Drew. Cade Allen knocked in Russ and Adams with a single. Durden hammered a double that scored Monroe and Allen.

Bladen County tacked on 3 runs in the fourth. Adams walloped a triple and raced home when Monroe belted a single. Allen drilled a double that scored Monroe, and Bryan drove in Allen with a single.

Allen batted 2-3 with a double to lead the Bladen hitters. Russ also finished 2-3 at the plate. Adams clobbered a triple, and Durden smashed a double. Hester, Bryan, and Monroe added one hit each.

Durden relieved Hester in the fourth inning and recorded the final out.

Bladen County will receive a bye Sunday and will play their next game Monday at 8 p.m. against the Whiteville/Columbus County winner.
