Steve Hancock is one of the better golfers in the area. Some say he might just be the best.
It did not appear that way Friday when Steve was playing with the “old men’s group” at Vineyard Golf At White Lake.
Steve, of the golfing Hancock family, had a rather average (for some golfers) 40 on the front side. When he teed it up on number ten … things changed. He fired a blazing 31 to bring his 18 hole score down to one-under par 71 for the day.
Although 40 on nine holes is a good score for 90% of Vineyard’s players it did not match the expected score of a Hancock. Jim, Ann and Cade would shake their heads and ask Steve “What happened on the front.” They expected the recorded score on the back.
