The Allen family recently shared their remarkable story with BladenOnline. In 2008, they took a leap of faith and decided to plant a pecan orchard.

For the Allens, their modus operandi has always been to set clear goals and meticulously craft plans to achieve them. Trish emphasized that Jimmy’s decision to join the National Pecan Growers Association was pivotal in their journey. In the realm of small business, the pursuit of knowledge and a willingness to learn are indispensable keys to success.

In 2019, the couple toyed with the idea of acquiring more land, expanding the orchard, and eventually opening a store. In 2021, that dream became a reality.

In late 2021, Allen Family Orchards unveiled its establishment, featuring a processing center at the back and a charming store at the front. The store boasts an exquisite selection of gourmet pecans, including Chocolate Dipped, Candied, Roasted Himalayan Salted, Praline Covered, and Salted Caramel. Beyond pecans, the store offers an array of Stuckey items such as Pecan Log Rolls, Pecan Divinity, Pecan Brittle, and more.

But that’s not all – Allen Family Orchards offers pecans in various forms, frappes, and other delectable treats. Ice cream lovers can relish flavors like Blueberry Cheesecake and Strawberry Cheesecake, while the Candied Pecan Frappes are a crowd favorite. And let’s not forget the Christmas cupcake smoothie!

For those seeking warmth on chilly days, the gourmet hot chocolate is a soothing option. Moreover, the store features an assortment of “Grab n’ go” premade baskets, starting at $25, catering to every taste.

Jimmy and Trish Allen’s vision for Allen Family Orchards transcends mere commerce. As Trish articulated, thier goal is to be ‘that stopping place’ – a sanctuary where travelers heading to the beach or the lake can pause, rejuvenate, take a bathroom break, or leisurely enjoy ice cream while savoring their favorite gourmet pecans.
