beast-fest-of-bladenboroThere is plenty to see and do planned for the Bladenboro Beast Festival on October 28 and 29. Aside from plenty of games, a classic car show, and amusement rides, there will be plenty of entertainment for young and old alike.

On Friday, the Beast Fest will have a welcoming by Beast Fest Chairman Charles Ray Peterson. The Band “Honey Don’t” is scheduled to play Friday evening from 7 until 10 p.m. Honey Don’t is a rockabilly band from Whiteville featuring Don Peacock on Bass and vocal; Craig Peacock on Rhythm Guitar and Vocals, and Scott Worthington Lead Guitar and Matt Dudley on Drums.

On Saturday, festivities will kick off with opening ceremonies and the arrival of the Bladenboro Beast at 10 a.m. Live entertainment will take lace on the stage throughout the day including performances by Brenda Storms; Nick Peavy; the Band Recovery; Lori Guyton; Marlie Walters; the Rev. Victor Singletary and the Round Branch Male Chorus; Meghan and Jackson Pait; Lauren Clark/Lauren’s Zumba Dancers/Colby Wright and Vicki Clark (Biggest  Looser Contestants); Miss NC Outstanding Teen Catherine White introduced by Dan Allen; Peggy Kelly, Jake and Jamey Ward; Christian and Kennedy Johnson; Alyssa Bell; Julia Deavers; Rodney Lowe; the “Golden Platter” Milton Bullock; Carolina Karate; music and dancing.

At 2:30 p.m. there will be a Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume contest followed by a Children’s Halloween Costume Contest.

At 7 p.m. Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot of Myrtle Beach will perform. The band is known as a Soul, R&B party band. They play a variety of music from the 50s, 60s and Carolina Beach music. The band consists of Gary Lowder on lead vocals, trumpet and congas; Dan Thomas plays drums and vocals; guitar and vocals by J. K. Loftin; Keith Stone plays trumpet, flugel, trombone, vocals; Mickey Hardie plays keyboards and performs vocals; Eric Mauldin plays Bass guitar, keys and vocals; Kenny Anderson plays Tenor Sax; Jeff Alspaugh plays trombone, keys and drums and Guy Mitchell is sound engineer.
