A benefit day was held in Garland on Saturday under warm sunny skies to assist Jeremy Gautier. Gautier was badly injured in a motorcycle crash earlier this summer. The ride, which saw about 100 bikers take part, passed through both Bladen and Sampson counties.
Due to the nature of his injuries, Gautier has endured several surgeries and is facing more surgery, according to a GoFundMe page set up to receive donations. In addition to his medical expenses, Gautier has a 7-year old daughter.
The event also included other activities. There were T-shirts for sale and plates of freshly cooked chopped barbecue. The turnout was tremendous. There was also a silent auction and raffle held.
The fund raised will from Saturday’s benefit will go to Gautier to assist with his medical expenses.
