DUBLIN – The Small Business Center (SBC) of Bladen Community College is offering no-cost business seminars for entrepreneurs and business owners.

The Dublin campus is hosting four seminars in May. Finance 101 for Non-Financial Managers will guide attendees through the fundamentals of budgeting, depreciation, financial statement set-up, capitalizing expenditures, payables & receivables, and profits & losses. The workshop meets on Mon., May 15, from 2 until 3 p.m., in building 2, room 202.

Fundamentals of Fund Raising will show non-profits and church leaders new ways to generate revenue throughout the year. The seminar meets on Thurs., May 18, from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. at the same location.

Be Debt Free will teach simple but effective methods to eliminate debt. Attendees will learn about scams and ‘quick fixes’ that should be avoided and how to properly deal with creditors. The class is on Saturday May 20, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon, on the main campus in building 2, room 202.
Social Media Strategy teaches effective ways to market businesses on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms. The workshop meets on Mon., May 22, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the same location.

The Bladen County Public Library is hosting Fostering Your Network Even When the Economy is Down, a workshop that shows attendees how to develop fruitful partnerships and how to get assistance when needed. The seminar meets on Tues., May 23, from 6 until 8 p.m.

The SBC will host two new seminars IN June.

Marketing for Events, Trade Shows, and Expos will be held on Thurs., June 8, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. How to Start a Drone Business is scheduled for Sat., June 24, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.

All seminars are open to the public and provided at no charge due to special funding arrangements for the Small Business Center and Bladen Community College.
