Spring 2021 Career and College Promise Program

DUBLIN –On Monday, October 19th , at 6 pm, Bladen Community College will host a virtual information session for the parents of high school students currently enrolled in grades 11 and 12, who are interested in applying to the Career and College Promise Program for the Spring 2021 semester.

Due to COVID-19, this meeting will be held virtually, via Zoom. For more
information about this event and to receive a link to the virtual session, please email Cierra Griffin at cgriffin@bladencc.edu .

The Bladen Community College Career and College Promise Program (CCP) successfully prepare local high school students for university environments with up to two years of college credits and a sampling of college rigors.

Cierra Griffin, BCC College and High School Programs Coordinator explains, “CCP provides students with the opportunity to take college classes that will not only transfer to the high school as honors credit and can be applied to graduation requirements, but will also transfer to any of the 16 state universities and some private schools in North Carolina.”
Barry Priest, BCC Vice-President of Student Services, added, “A CCP graduate at Bladen Community College gets the opportunity to not only prepare for a four year university but also to earn their associates in arts and science before graduating high school. The program gives students insight on what to expect, and I believe it is a great option for high school students to get a head start on their academic achievements. ”
With the growing availability of online classes, students have time management flexibility. Motivated students can earn as many as two associate degrees. The college transfer program offers associate degrees in art and science. The general education classes offered within the program are required bachelor’s degree classes; therefore, every credit transfers.
