The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) announced today that the Elwell Ferry will be closed due to mechanical problems.
Elwell Ferry is closed starting at 7 am on April 18, 2024, and is scheduled to re-open on May 30, 2024, at 6 pm.
The NCDOT also reminds motorists that traffic on US Highway 701N in Elizabethtown has been routed to the new bridge and the bridge has a closure to wide load traffic. Wide load traffic is restricted on the new bridge.
