*Elizabethtown Jaycees held their yearly DSA Banquet, with the featured speaker being N.C. State football coach Lou Holtz.
*The Elizabethtown Rescue Squad made 458 calls from January1, 1972 to December 31, 1972. This compared with 341 calls in 1971.
