Eileen Fisher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Fisher of Elizabethtown, was named Secretary-Treasured of the Cape Fear Alumni of Atlantic Christian College.
Ruby E. Hester retired from working with the Bank of Elizabethtown. Ms. Hester was presented with an engraved gold watch.
A western style shoot out took place at a night spot in East Arcadia. The shoot out lasted all night. According to Deputy Sheriff C.C. King five persons were arrested.
