Bladen County Schools is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of its students in the 2024 Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District contests. Each year, the North Carolina Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts hosts contests encompassing poster design, essay writing, public speaking, and computer slide show presentations, with this year’s theme centered around “The Living Soil.”Bladen County Schools extends their heartfelt congratulations to the following students for their remarkable success:

– Paisley Crawford from Bladenboro Primary—1st Place, 3rd Grade Poster
– Amy Rojo Munoz from Bladen Lakes Primary—2nd Place, 3rd Grade Poster
– Zoe Skinner from Bladen Lakes Primary—1st Place, 4th Grade Poster
– Kaylin Autry from Bladen Lakes Primary—1st Place, 5th Grade Poster
– Owen Hall from Clarkton School of Discovery—1st Place, 6th Grade Slide Show
– Georgia Lewis from Clarkton School of Discovery—1st Place, 7th Grade Essay
– Kyzerria McKeithan from Elizabethtown Middle—1st Place, 8th Grade Essay
– Sarahi Cuc Reyes from Tar Heel School—2nd Place, 8th Grade Essay
– Luke Bridgers from Clarkton School of Discovery—1st Place, 7th Grade Public Speaking

Their hard work showcased their understanding of environmental conservation and the importance of soil health.

Bladen County Schools also announced that East Bladen High School student, Jackson Bridgers, has been selected as this year’s Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District representative to attend the prestigious annual Resource Conservation Workshop. This workshop, held at North Carolina State University in June, offers participants a week of intensive study covering various conservation topics.

As these talented students move on to the Area 7 competition, we wish them the best of luck in their endeavors. Their achievements reflect the commitment of Bladen County Schools to fostering academic excellence and environmental stewardship among our students.
