ELIZABETHTOWN — Stryker Pait pitched 3.1 innings of 1-hit scoreless relief and struck out 5 as the Yard Goats rallied from an early 4-2 deficit and defeated the Rays 14-4 in Dixie Boys Baseball action Friday night at County Park.

Aidan Thompson started on the mound for the Yard Goats and allowed 2 runs in 0.1 innings on 2 walks and a hit batter. Jayden Bethea worked 0.2 innings of relief and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits while striking out 1. Ryne Priest followed Pait to the mound and worked 0.1 scoreless innings striking out 1 batter. Corben Chadwick finished up with 0.1 innings of scoreless relief and allowed a walk while striking out 1.

Gaston Russ and Chadwick drew walks in the Yard Goat 1st inning, and Aidan Thompson was hit by a pitch. Russ and Chadwick both scored for a 2-0 Yard Goat lead.

The Rays rallied in the bottom of the inning. Jerod Smith reached base on an error, Noah German was hit by a pitch, and Samuel Cummings and Owen Hall drew walks. Cameron Thompson scorched a single through the middle, and Jace Butler slammed a double to left-center field. Smith, German, Cummings and Hall all scored to vault the Rays into a 4-2 lead.

Brady Marlowe laced a single to left, and Gunner Lewis spanked a single to right-center field to start the Yard Goat 2nd. Priest and Eli Woodell drew walks, and Ritchie Gonzalez-Velasco and Sawyer Barbour swatted singles to right-center field with Barbour’s hit scoring 2 runs. Marlowe, Lewis, Priest and Woodell all scored to push the Yard Goats back on top 6-4.

Rylan Bordeaux drilled a triple to left-center field to begin the Yard Goat 3rd inning and raced home on Drake Gause’s fielder’s choice to pad the lead to 7-4.

Pait yanked a single to left-center field, and Landon Gause belted a single to right-center to start the Yard Goat 4th inning. Gunner Lewis slammed a double to left-center field, and Priest smoked a double to right-center field. Woodell walked, Barbour knocked in Priest and Woodell with a double to right-center field that stretched the lead to 12-4. Pait, Landon Gause and Gunner Lewis had scored earlier in the inning.

Russ swatted a single to right-center, and Chadwick and Aidan Thompson drew walks. Pait’s fielder’s choice brought home Russ and Chadwick to up the count to 14-4.

Gunner Lewis batted 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and 2 runs scored. Sawyer Barbour also finished 2-for-2 with 4 RBIs. Priest doubled, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBIs. Rylan Bordeaux tripled and scored a run. Russ, Pait, Landon Gause, Marlowe and Gonzalez-Velasco added 1 hit each. Pait had 2 RBIs. Drake Gause and Gonzalez-Velasco had 1 RBI each. Russ, Woodell and Chadwick scored 2 runs each. Pait, Landon Gause and Marlowe scored 1 run each.

Butler doubled and drove in 2 runs to lead the Rays’ hitters. Cameron Thompson and Joshua Williamson connected for 1 single each. Smith, German, Cummings and Hall scored 1 run each. Hall and Cameron Thompson had 1 RBI each.
